Dialogue with nature

There can be no human creation that aspires to the status of art and that is not nourished by the deep dialogue with nature, with the whole that surrounds us and of which we ourselves are an expression.

Inserting a garden in close dialogue with one’s own context is the basis of works that are not ephemeral expressions of passing fashions.

In the eastern garden is not only the external landscape that we take ‘on loan’ to make it an integral part of the garden views, but the whole universe is included in the creation.

The poetry of absence and patient waiting, so beloved by Zen philosophy, is expressed through the expectation for the full moon, admired from the terrace to contemplate it (tsukimidai) not looking at it directly, but through its reflection in the water of a pond.
