The garden in culture

The garden has always accompanied man and his civilization.

In the Epic of Gilgamesh, written around 2500 BC in Mesopotamia, we can read about the beautiful city of Uruk: ‘ a third was a city, a third cultivated fields and a third garden …’

It is in the fertile crescent between the Tigris and the Euphrates that the garden is born as a protected and harvested place, rich of water and shady trees under which to rest and converse with loved ones.

For more than 4000 years man has been looking for his ideal of beauty and peace in contact with nature in the garden.
