The American ‘Storace’

Many of the trees native to North America are characterized by spectacular autumn coloring.

No exception is the Liquidambar styraciflua, whose leaves, similar to those of maple, are tinged with flaming streaks that turn from red to orange and yellow.

Despite being a tree of considerable size, its posture is rather compact, which makes it a more scenic alternative to other trees with a fastigiate or pyramidal posture.

The branches with the typical suberosive crests and the pointed hanging fruits make the winter appearance very particular and interesting.
