Every expression of human creativity cannot fail to fit into the uninterrupted flow of the creations that have preceded us; it cannot fail to nourish itself and spring from the great models of our past, even in case of open opposition.
Without knowledge of our history and its expressive forms we end up being without roots; limiting ourselves to their imitation we create works that are already old, incapable to involve us.
