Gardens in winter

Winter gardens take the concept of garden as an exotic place away from everyday life to the extreme.

From the bright lemon groves of Renaissance villas to the amazing glass and steel buildings such as the Crystal Palace built in 1851 for the first universal exhibition in London, or the winter garden of the World Financial Center in New York, for centuries man has been trying to overcome the limits imposed by climatic conditions in order to create small artificial worlds.
