Description Project

This garden has got a strong character and stands out for its clear adherence to the context in which it is inserted, namely the harsh and charming nature of Sardinia.
The property is located along the slopes of the reliefs that, covered by Mediterranean scrub, slope down towards the sea that opens up to the gaze in the distance. Therefore, the garden takes on the connotation of a ‘terrace’ opening onto the landscape of the island, without elements that limit its range towards the horizon.
The rocky and very poor soil, the torrid climate in summer, the constant exposure to sea winds, are all elements that have profoundly influenced the design of the garden.
Various precautions were necessary during the implementation phase, such as the reuse and accumulation of domestic water, as well as that coming from the rare rainfall, and the addition of more fertile soil to specific areas of the property.

In addition, plant elements suited to the difficult soil and climate conditions were used, whilst the use of lawns was limited to the areas immediately adjacent to the house and the infinity pool.
As a result, the garden has taken on a distinctly Mediterranean character and is very well integrated into its context, so that the transition to the landscape occurs seamlessly.
At the same time, the presence of elements such as the flower borders and the swimming pool humanizes the spaces around the house, making them clearly domestic environments.
In this way, by creating a gradual transition from the lived environments to the landscape of the island, with areas that change their character as you move away from the house to gradually blend into the environmental context, the garden creates a connection between man and the surrounding nature, promoting true regeneration during holiday periods.
